Pinot Grigio is well known around the world. Cousin to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it is grown in a large number of
climates and geographic regions. In many areas it takes its French name, Pinot Gris. Despite its darker colored skin, it is almost
universally used to make white wine, sometimes expressing its skin color with a salmon colored tinge. Our Pinot Grigio was
planted in 2000 and as it matures we are seeing a distinct change in its flavor profile with a move toward more distinct
characteristics which are a reflection of our site. It makes a very nice table wine that can be enjoyed with a variety of light fare
such as chicken or fish. Its tight bunches, a charateristic of the Pinot family, make it a little tricky to grow in our humid summer
weather but we think its worth the extra effort.
